Fox News contributor David Hunt announces that “our generals are betraying our soldiers … again” by prosecuting snipers over some shootings in Iraq.
Betrayal. Exactly the same word that outraged the right wing and Congress in the MoveOn ad about General Petraeus. I can’t wait for the outraged protests and condemnation of Fox for attacking the honor and integrity of our military.
Not to mention last week’s attacks by Rush Limbaugh—despite his claim the MoveOn ad was “contemptible”—who told a caller that members of the military who speak out against the Iraq War are “phony soldiers.” I’m sure we’ll see a lot of right-wing outrage directed against Limbaugh over that too. Because conservatives support and admire our troop sooooo much.
(As usual, the decent conservatives who don’t think “support our troops” means “support our troops as long as they spout Republican talking points” are exempt from my criticism here).
