Jeb Bush as McCain’s education advisor?

April 4th, 2008, 6:03 am · Post a Comment · posted by fsherman

The same Jeb Bush of Florida whose voucher program was notoriously lax in oversight and rife with fraud? So lax that a private-school principal who took $200,000 in vouchers without admitting a single new student never suffered any penalty—the courts decided there was nothing in the voucher rules that actually forbade that.

But then, it fits with McCain’s selection of foreign policy advisors who’ve spent the past four years telling us how brilliantly we’re triumphing in Iraq.

Perhaps McCain could make Jeb his advisor on end-of-life issues, too (”I’m telling you John, you can win over the religious right by making unconstitutional interventions in painful court cases, then pushing state prosecutors to investigate the other side in the case. It’s a win-win!”).
