Arrived early because I had to pick up and read my “information package” from City Hall.
A couple of notes:
•One of the ordinances on flood-control that I’d thought would be dry and technical may be more interesting: It would prohibit enclosing the area under a building below the “base flood elevation” if the lowest floor is five feet or more above grade. Apparently some people wall this space in, then turn it into living space, which violates city ordinances and thereby lower’s the community’s flood-protection rating, which could increase flood-insurance premiums.
•The discussion of rentals will focus on the boarding houses that some owners have created in single-family zoning, and ways to restrict them.
