<p>One commenter pointed out that as this trend continues—and I&#8217;m quite sure it will—how will it affect cooks using recipes that call for &#8220;one can of X?&#8221; If the recipe was written for a pound can or eight ounce can and the contents are a couple of ounces less, that&#8217;s going to throw the recipe off. </p>
<p>As a cook, I find this an interesting thought.</p>
